Google Wave is a combination of chat, e-mail, and bulletin board, all in real time.
Google Wave: you’ve probably already heard about the new Google communications system; what you may not be too clear on is whether or not it implies something you should worry about in the short term. Don’t worry, Google Wave is still under development and only a handful of invitations have been distributed among the thousands and thousands of interested people. However, at Finday we already had the chance to try it out and we’re convinced that it will radically change the way we share information online.
As a collaborative online system, Wave allows us to interact with our contacts using rich format text, photos, videos or maps. A “wave” is simply a conversation in real time – like you would in a chat or, in an asynchronous way, like e-mail- with several people; a cross between e-mail, instant messaging and bulletin board which are managed, like Gmail, from a web interface. Participants in a wave can edit its contents and add more participants at any time. They can also “rewind” the wave to see who said what, and when. Now, thanks to the possibility of creating public waves, you can see and participate directly on the Finday wave.
On the crest of the wave
To make a wave public, you simply add public@a.gwave.com as a participant.
Indeed, all you lucky people who have a Google Wave account can, from now on, not only follow but also participate directly in the development and news about Finday. All you have to do is write “with:public finday wave news” (without quotation marks) into the search box, which by default, points to the inbox (in:inbox). Open the wave titled “Finday news“, and choose the Follow option from the toolbar. You can make any comment on the wave, where we will be announcing all the new stuff going on in our blog.
The interesting thing is that anyone can create public waves, although the method is not documented nor the function implemented in the current Google Wave interface. To achieve this, it is necessary to create a new contact called public@a.gwave.com, and then include it as a participant in the wave you want to make public.
Now you have no excuse not to follow us in our exciting adventure towards making the Internet better. You already had this blog, we gave you Facebook and Twitter, and now you can jump on the crest of Finday´s wave on Google Wave.

I would really love a wave invite
Finday, as an avid Gwave user, I suggest just making your Wave address public. It is easy to figure out a Gmail address from an account so why worry, just make your Gmail address public. Mine is chrislang@googlewave.com and hence my gmail address is chrislang@gmail.com See? Nothing to worry about.
When you add that to contacts it also adds my Gmail to your contacts, so I have always suggested that your address for both be public and forgetabout it.
But that is me, I like meeting new people and even though they will try, spammers will not over run Gwave, or so we predict. Shoot me a Wave Finday, and let’s get to know each other on Gwave.
Also instead of fishing for an invite from friends, just sign up at http://wave.google.com I have heard reports of invites going out immediately to new signups. I have about 40 extra invites right now and have sent out over 200 to my clients.
